Who said change was good?

It certainly is hard sometimes!

Not sure where to begin...seems like we've been soooo busy but yet not accomplishing anything. Does that even make sense to anyone else but me...lol?!
I don't remember last June being this busy with school wrapping up, yard work, and other events that have us hopping like kangaroos.
I cannot get a grip on the fact that school is over in a week!! I am so looking forward to doing nothing the first week of July, I can't even describe it.
I am having an even harder time with the fact that my brother (one of them) is actually getting married this weekend. Who would have thought? Not any of us I am sure but he is and we are attending because no matter what our feelings are on the issue or toward him, it's the right thing to do. Tuesday, I took the boys shopping for clothes for the event and they chose golf/polo style shirts, jeans and flip flops. They are all going to look so smokin' hot...is it ok for a Mom to say that about her sons...lol? I'll post pics after we get back and you can be the judge of how handsome they are. Too bad I don't have my new camera yet to take the pics with. Hey all you digital SLR owners...I would love to hear from you about your camera. Ya know, the likes and dislikes, features it has others don't etc. We are in the process of trying to decide which one we want but it's always nice to get reviews from real people who have used them. Basically, I want one that is easy to use, little shutter lag, other lens options and not too big/awkward to hold. I will go 'fondle' them before I pick one but any info you'd be willing to share would be fantastic.
On a less positive note, I am a bit sad that in a week, I'll be saying goodbye to my friend and neighour Chrystal. They are moving back to BC and we are going to miss them sooo much. I already had to say goodbye to her kids and that was incredibly difficult. Her and her hubby will be back to get their things and say good bye...even though I know we'll still talk daily and msn each other and email pics, it's not the same. We love hanging out with them, playing games, bbq's and fires and now we won't be able to do that. She was my first friend when I moved here two years ago and helped me adjust to my new surroundings. I am already planning on flying out to visit and our family will drive there next summer for a holiday. None the less, things are going to be very different around here without them. I am working on a mini album for them of things in our town/neighbourhood so they won't forget...the kids have only known here as home so I want them to be able to see that when they are older.
I have done some other scrapbooking too but am too lazy right now to post the pics so it'll have to wait until next post. I gotta run anyway and do some last minute laundry/packing so we can leave. Have a great weekend people doing whatever it is you'll be doing!

weekend wrap up

Another weekend down...three more busy ones to go!
Friday after school, I picked up Carsyn and his three friends that were spending the night and
the teacher asked if I was really ready for this because the boys had been bouncing off the walls most of the day...I said I'd be ok. Who was kidding?...lol! I called Brian at 3:30 asking when he was going to be home because I already had a headache...we'd only been home 15 minutes!!! He laughed and said all of a sudden he had to work late and wouldn't get here until the kids were all sleeping. Funny guy he thinks he is...lol! I sent them out to jump on the trampoline while I got a few things organized for them. They each made their own pita pizza for supper, which they all thought was cool and they had drinks in these light up cups I bought for each of them. While the pizza's were cooking, they all decorated a "do not disturb sign" for their rooms. After supper, they went to play musical pillows and a sleeping bag sack race...both were funny to watch. We had cake and then each of the boys decorated a plain white pillow case with fabric markers...I even bought one that glows in the dark...how fun will that be at bed time? Then they all snuggled into their beds and watched a movie while munching on popcorn. They actually were asleep by 10:30. Saturday morning, they woke up @ 6 but played quietly and watched cartoons. I made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and sent them on their way. Carsyn said this was his best birthday ever.
My Mom and Grandma arrived late Friday night as well. So great to have them here for a visit. Saturday morning, we enjoyed coffee in the backyard while Brian started hauling dirt to level out the one half. Mom and Grandma both love gardening and I happen to have some plants that needed a home so they took care of that for me...looks good! Gavin and I attended a birthday party that afternoon for one of my preschool kids and then came home for pizza. We were hoping to have a fire and roast marshmallows but a nasty storm blew in, so we hung out inside instead. Sunday, our company left and Brian seeded the side of the yard he spent the entire day leveling. Did a few other odd jobs around the house/yard, visited with our neighbors a bit and enjoyed a family supper with our usual 'sundae's on Sunday'.
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend too.
I'll leave you with a couple of layouts I managed to complete in the last couple of weeks.

Wii are family!

Finally....found the kids their Christmas gift last week. We couldn't get our hands on one in time for Christmas, so they got a picture of one in a huge box saying we would buy them one when we could get one. That day came last Wednesday. Brian phoned to say they had them at the Walmart where he was working. He came home with it to surprise the boys on Thursday night. I can't tell you how much fun this game system is...it's awesome!! Brian and I both had body parts aching the next day...lol! Even my in laws played it while they were here and now my MIL wants to buy one for their house!

The weekend was spent playing the Wii, enjoying the beautiful weather with family and friends as well as celebrating my hubby's 40th birthday. It was a fabulous three days!!

Today was my last day teaching pre kindergarten...a bittersweet day. I cried some tears and so did some of the kids but I promised them all I would see them in Kindergarten. I will actually get to watch them grow up as they are the same age as Gavin so they will go to school together till graduation...potentially. How great will that be! Thirteen years from now, I can say to them, do you remember when you were 5 and I was your preschool teacher?

Lastly, but certainly not least, I've been tagged by Heike, so here goes:
  1. Name three things that scare you... snakes, spiders and mice.
  2. The daggiest thing in your music collection...Air Supply
  3. Your three favourite clothing items... jeans, tshirts and flip flops.
  4. Your partners most annoying habit... forgetting to tell me something then insisting he did...grrr
  5. What stresses you out ... being unorganized
  6. If I could change the world I would hmmmmm...can't decide, so many things need changing
  7. Your favourite household chore… seriously??? Um...laundry I guess
  8. If you had fifty bucks to spend at Target which section would you head straight for…we don't have those here but I've heard great things about the dollar spot there so I would check that section out.
  9. In my next life I would like to come back as …myself (just a few sizes smaller...lol)
  10. Your least favourite celebrity…Paris Hilton
I tag Sherri, Vanessa and Jocelyne...have fun ladies!

We'll be busy over the next few days with Carsyn's birthday Friday/Saturday, my Mom and Grandma are coming Friday till Sunday and we have another party to attend this weekend as well. When am I going to have time to scrapbook? Oh well, I love having family here.

Have a fabulous week everyone.
